Switching to a full scene takes 3-4 seconds

Every time I change a scene it takes 4 seconds to udpate the screen, with it going black inbetween. Is this really neccessary or limitation of the hardware/images I'm using?
I'm using 256color pngs.
The wait is rather too much for a productivity tool, and from what I've seen some other veeery similar stream deck devices do not have such lag.
Is this something that can be improved on?

With this model you can put just one or two dynamic plugins on the scene and it'll be very fast

I have no dynamic plugins just 15 fixed hotkeys.

IS there an optional file format/resolution for the images that could improve on the loading times?
I'm using 144x144 size of 256color PNGs.
Are the images stored in the profile pre-scaled to the target button resolution or being scaled down on the fly?

I tried scaling them down to 72x72 256color pngs but that seemed to have no impact on the speed of scene loading.

I'm willing to give some suggestions a chance before I send the unit back, since at this speed its hardly a productivity tool and actually slowing down any workflow that relies on switching scenes or opening folders.

When did you purchase it? You contacted the merchant who placed the order and asked him to send you the latest 293V2 to try out
