Icons take too long to load

I have found that if you install an icon pack or 2 (a few thousand icons), then everytime you want to select an icon to use it takes 5/10 seconds to load. It would be ok if this only happened the first time, but it does everytime. Suggest not to unload the icons when the window is closed. Even better would be to allow the Icon window to remain open all the time, and be able to drag-drop icons straight on to speed up changing many icons.
